Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Dufferin and District seeks to make a positive
difference in the lives of children by promoting their self-esteem, expanding their
awareness of life's opportunities, and providing them with guidance and support through
long-term, one-to-one mentorships with caring adult volunteers.
We're an organization dedicated to helping in the development of children growing up
in single-parent families. There are over 700,000 boys and girls in Canada who live with
one parent. Not all of them need or want another adult in their live -- but many do.
These are the children we serve.
Big Brothers of Canada has developed to the point where today there are 175 agencies across
the country. Almost half of them are joint Big Brother/Big Sister agencies, just like us.
Our Board of Directors is made up of a cross section of members from the local
community. They employ dedicated and diligent staff who carry on the day to day casework
and overall running of the agency.
